Microsoft has hosted vibrant technical and professional communities for more than 30 years. These communities have always been an essential part of how we connect with customers, get product feedback, help resolve issues, and support the growth of professional and technical skills. As we continue to navigate change around the globe, our communities serve as an essential way to stay connected and find inspirational ways to solve challenges. This is why we’re investing more deeply in the Microsoft Community.
We are happy to announce the preview version of the Microsoft Community Hub. Based on customer feedback, this site acts as a ‘front door’ and is the first step in simplifying your access to all the Microsoft communities have to offer. The site includes a unified listing of the various communities, integrated event calendar, and highlights of the most important part of the community, YOU. You can see who’s online, who’s contributing, and our Member of the Week. The communities that you interact with have not moved or changed, we have simply added this front door experience. As we move from preview into general availability of the Microsoft Community Hub there will be additional features and functionality that we will share with you in the coming months.
Earlier this year, Jeff Teper, CVP, Collaborative Apps & Platform announced the Microsoft Global Community Initiative that focuses on your feedback, your events, and directing our resources in useful ways to support our customers, Microsoft Partners, and community organizers. We’ve formed the public Microsoft Community Advisory Board where community leaders can give direct feedback and participate in decisions about how Microsoft supports our community.
Today, as a part of this broad initiative, we are also supporting the launch of the community developed CommunityDays.org, which will serve as a hub for free technical training events around the world. These Community Days events are organized by volunteer community members and cover a variety of topics like Microsoft Teams, Power Platform, or Dynamics 365. Led by MVP, Tom Daly, the creation of this site is based on the great work done by the SPS Events (SharePoint Saturday team), who delivered countless successful events around the world prior to the pandemic. Expanding on their success we are supporting the global scale of this site and the events that you’ll find there through our Community Initiative. Check out CommunityDays.org today and find an event near you, add your community event, or sign up to participate. If you are an organizer of any type of community event make sure to post your event on the Community Days site to ensure attendees can find you!
